Course Overview

The Fundamentals of Electronic Circuitry course is designed to provide greater detail of the fundamental concepts of electricity. The primary topics covered in the course are:

  • Basic electricity concepts
  • Circuit configurations
  • Circuit analysis formulas
  • Function of electronic components
  • Impedance and phase angle
  • Semiconductor components

Objectives

After successfully completing the Fundamentals of Electronic Circuitry course, participants will be able to perform the following course objectives:

  • Calculate parallel resistance
  • Calculate capacitance and inductance in basic AC circuits
  • Calculate total impedance in a basic AC circuit
  • Solve word problems involving Ohm's and Watt's Laws
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic transistor theory
  • Use phase diagrams to calculate resonance frequency
  • Prepare to pass the TKT test using in class sample tests

Format

Fundamentals of Electronic Circuitry is a 30-hour program, offered two nights a week, for 3 hours each night. The course is highly interactive and includes hands-on application of circuit building using an electronic project lab kit. Participants are also actively engaged with the use of scientific calculators for solving application problems.
