Facilitator Candidates exhibit:
- Content expertise
- Workplace experience
- Educational background
- Related certifications
- Facilitation experience
- Four facilitation competencies as defined in "The Facilitative Instructor Workshop"
Train-the-Trainer
- New Facilitator Candidate attends the two-day "The Facilitative Instructor Workshop" program
- Facilitator Candidate prepares for and completes course check-out
- Facilitator Candidate conducts class with Implementation Manager observing
- Implementation Manager coaches and mentors Facilitator Candidate until Candidate is certified by Job Skills to facilitate the course.
- Facilitator is required to attend two Training Updating sessions per year
During the Train-the-Trainer process the Facilitator Candidate must be able to demonstrate proficiency in a variety of instructional techniques and tools some of which include:
- The ability to use Adult Learning Techniques including:
- Guiding the participants to reach own answers (self-discovery)
- Involving the participants in the action of learning through individual and small group involvement
- Guiding participants in appropriate application (personal and professional) of learning experiences
- Presenting the learning as a solution to participants' needs
In addition to these abilities the Facilitator must be able to:
- Demonstrate the effective use of content management
- Demonstrate the effective use of delivery skills
- Demonstrate the effective use of media skills
- Demonstrate the effective use of classroom management
